The Bulldogs are North Wales under-16 Champions!
Superb 2nd & 3rd quarters formed the basis for a 56-40 win over Flint in the Play-off final at Plas Coch Sports Centre in Wrexham
Joe Cooper top scored with 18 points, but MVP was Tom Jonker who scored all 11 of our 1st quarter points en route to a 15 point haul, during which he drew fouls on Flint's shot-blocker, forcing him to the bench and making it easier for our other players to attack the basket. Tom, Joe and 11 Jack Wareing took around 25 rebounds between them, making it easy for the boys to run fast breaks.
Tom Barraclough and Joel Dobbins did an excellent job in restricting Flint's most dangerous player and Vas Kubwalo scored 13 off the bench. Our youngest player, Clayton Phoenix, ran the point with style against older players, while fellow year 9 Ben Reddy put in a solid defensive and rebounding performance.
Coach Trevor was immensely satisfied by the way the team played. "Offensively we were great, we didn't get distracted when we missed a lot of layups early. We overwhelmed them in the 2nd & 3rd quarters with some great passing and really tough defence."
